Hope for Children Organization Ethiopia’s health program encompasses HIV and AIDS and nutrition for highly vulnerable children and adults. HIV prevention, voluntary counseling and testing, care and support as well as home-based care and hospice services are offered. To date, just over 100,000 people living with the virus have benefited within a total of 36 towns scattered throughout the country.
In 2016, a total of 6,600 people living with the virus were receiving care and support to foster healthy living and adherence, as well as prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections in 9 towns within Amhara, Oromia and SNNPR regions.
Young people have received education on sexual and reproductive health to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV and AIDS within schools and the broader community.
